Things change rapidly in the WordPress world. The content in this post is more than a year old and may no longer represent best practices.
Ted Curran shared the following tools he uses for building WordPress sites:
Stylebot
A Google Chrome extension that allows users to manipulate a web page’s appearance in a WYSIWYG manner.
Using Stylebot, users are able to:
- Incrementally build custom stylesheets for Chrome.
- Save custom CSS rules for sites. The next time they visit a site, their custom CSS is already applied.
- Share, explore and apply CSS created by other users via Stylebot Social.
Shoestrap
Based on Twitter Bootstrap, it lets you tweak all sorts of things from within the WordPress Theme Customizer.
Bootswatch
Gives you a bunch of CSS files to style Bootstrap with.
Foundation
An alternative to Twitter Bootstrap, produced by ZURB.
Eyedropper Apps
Use anywhere on your screen, not just in your browser.
